COVID-19 Assistance: The City of Richmond Launches RVAStrong

As the coronavirus reverberates across our community, we are reminded that we all need to depend on each other. The City of Richmond recently launched RVAStrong.org, a relief website which provides resources and access to services for individuals and families impacted by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The site is designed to promote the efforts of nonprofit agencies and businesses assisting the community, as well as provide information for those who need support during this time.

Visitors to the website can:
• Identify a need they may have and see what resources are available. For example, if you need food support, hover over “For individuals” and choose “I need food support.”
• Explore causes close to their heart, such as housing stability, food security, families and neighborhoods. The site includes links to donation pages for individuals to donate to said causes.
• Sign up to receive the COVID-19 Public Briefing, which includes timely updates and links to city resources via email.

If you want to donate but don’t know where your money will make the most difference, consider the Central Virginia COVID-19 Response Fund. Activated by the Community Foundation, the donations will be used to support community organizations that are meeting the needs of individuals and families most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
