NBC 12 News reports that some traffic signals remain inoperable after storms knocked out power around the Richmond Metro Area this past Tuesday. Chesterfield County police have been pulling over drivers who run through stop lights without power. The police want to remind everyone to that when traffic lights are out all intersections must be treated as four way stops.
Officer Whitlock made the following remark: “If the lights are not working at all, every approach to that intersection needs to be treated as if it were a stop sign. If they’re flashing red, then you can proceed after you stop, as long as nobody is in the intersection.”
Dominion reports customers in Stratford Hills and Bon Air areas may not have power until Friday afternoon. As of 8:00 a.m. today, 6,000 customers were still without power. At the height of the storm, over 70,000 customers lost power.
