July 28, 2015- Henrico, VA

Firefighters responded to a two-alarm warehouse fire on Klockner drive in Henrico just before 2:00 AM last night. NBC12 reports that the fire was marked under control at 3:20 AM.

While responders were able to determine that the source of the flames was foam rubber inside the warehouse, the fire marshal’s office is still investigating what exactly ignited the fire.

According to the Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office, there have been 608 warehouse fires this year (through July 7, 2015), resulting in $135,901.00 worth of damage. While no injuries were reported in this case, employees who work in warehouses, factories, garages, waste facilities, and the like are often exposed to a litany of on-the-job dangers.

For warehouse and industrial workers, inadequate fire-safety provisions represent one of many common causes of workplace injuries. Warehouse employees are at increased risk of exposure to gas leaks, heavy machinery collisions, forklift accidents, electrocution, malfunctioning equipment and falls from dangerous heights – just to name a few.

If you work in a warehouse or industrial setting and suffer an on-the-job injury, you may be entitled to workers’ compensation benefits. Call the experienced Virginia workers’ compensation attorneys at ReidGoodwin today to schedule a legal evaluation.
